The Day Dreamer Award

The Day Dreamer Award

I’ve been nominated by Dining With Lesbians for the Day Dreamer Award. The rules for accepting the award are:

Thank the person who gave you the award.
Thank you so much! So thoughtful and very flattering 🙂

Complete the challenge they set you.

Dining with Lesbians challenge is:

“Tell me about the strangest fruit you’ve had and share a picture if you can.”

I have actually seen the durian fruit for sale at a market I shopped at on a regular basis. It was wrapped in foil, then plastic, then foil again to protect against the smell! Supposedly it smells of rotten, dirty socks – I can’t comment as I have never been close enough to smell, but I can claim to have seen it!

Right now I have kumquats in my refrigerator. They are small citrus fruits that are in season now. Bite size with sweet rinds and a tart center, they are delicious!

  1. I’ve only had durian in things and it was quite good. I would never buy one myself for the smell is atrocious. That is one item banned from airplanes in some countries.

  2. Wow, that’s what you call them? Kumquats? I’ve never really known their name in English. If they are what I’m thinking they are, we have them around as decoration during Chinese New Year (but we don’t really eat them because they aren’t the sweetest of fruits). Thanks for sharing!
